Anmerkungen

  • In northeastern China, the root of Aconiti Coreani, Guan Bai Fu, is substituted for this herb; it is highly toxic and must not be confused with the true herb.
  • The herb's name literally means “white appendage,” and there are two distinct “appendages”: Rx. Lateralis Aconiti Carmichaeli Preparata, Zhi Fu Zi or Hei Fu Zi, meaning “black appendage,” is acrid and intensely hot, expelling Damp-Cold from the Lower Jiao to warm the Ming Men and restore Devastated Yang; prepared Rz. Typhonii, Zhi Bai Fu Zi, is acrid and warm, and expels Wind-Damp-Cold from the Upper Jiao.
  • It is particularly effective for conditions of the head and face.
  • This herb is used in cosmetic face creams.
  • Used alone, it can be made into a topical paste for scrofula.
  • It treats true Cold, is seldom used in decoctions, and is applied externally for chloasma.
  • It is said to cure gastralgia and arthralgia caused by a Blood disorder.
  • It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth.
  • It has been reported to cure lymphotuberculosis.
  • It is said to relieve pain, remove toxins and promote the circulation of Qi.
  • Zhi Bai Fu Zi and Rz. Arisaematis Preparatum Zhi Tian Nan Xing both treat Wind-Phlegm. Zhi Bai Fu Zi has an ascending, raising action, making it specific for expelling Excess Wind-Phlegm from the face and head, while Zhi Tian Nan Xing expels Wind-Phlegm and stops spasms, and is especially suited to Wind-Stroke with profuse Phlegm surging upward, epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
