Anmerkungen

  • In women it quickly reduces clotting, and in men it reduces both fixed and mobile abdominal masses.
  • It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth.
  • It treats sweating in externally-contracted disease, abdominal Blood Stasis, convulsions, and limb paralysis from apoplexy.
  • The flesh of this creature treats menoxenia.
  • Ge Qiao and Pumex Fu Shi are alike in being salty and cold, clearing the Lungs, transforming viscous Phlegm, and softening hardness; both treat cough with Phlegm-Heat sputum that is hard to expectorate, scrofula, and urinary difficulty. They differ in direction: Ge Qiao is heavy and descends Qi, acting to reduce abdominal masses and clear Blood Stagnation, whereas Fu Hai Shi is light and tends to rise into the Lung channel and Upper Jiao.
  • Ge Qiao and Concha Arcae Wa Leng Zi both transform sticky Phlegm and control gastric acid. Ge Qiao, being cold, is better suited to Lung Heat and Dryness with coughing of blood, and it also aids fluid metabolism and reduces edema. Wa Leng Zi, being neutral, is used more broadly for Phlegm Accumulation, transforms Blood Stagnation, and reduces abdominal and other masses.
  • Calcined Meretricis/Cyclinae, Duan Hai Ge Qiao, pulverizes more easily into a fine powder for burns and eczema, and is taken internally for Stomach hyperacidity.
