Anmerkungen
- This substance is a mineral formed by volcanic eruption.
- Fu Shi and Fr. Trichosanthis Gua Lou both cool the Lungs and transform Phlegm-Heat, treating Phlegm that stifles the chest and resists expectoration. Fu Shi, cold and salty, mainly dissolves longstanding Phlegm accumulations and nodules and treats Bloody Lin. Gua Lou, sweet and cold, moistens and brings down rebellious Qi to relieve chest discomfort and guide Phlegm-Heat downward.
- Fu Shi and Concha Meretricis/Cyclinae Ge Qiao are both salty and cold, clearing the Lungs, transforming viscous Phlegm and softening hardness; both treat cough with Phlegm-Heat that resists expectoration, scrofula and urinary difficulty. Ge Qiao, being heavy, brings Qi downward and acts to reduce abdominal masses and eliminate Blood Stagnation, whereas Fu Shi, being light, tends to rise into the Lung channel and Upper Jiao.
- Fu Shi and Flos Inulae Xuan Fu Hua, both salty, are able to soften hardened Phlegm and are often combined for clumped, viscous sputum that resists expectoration. Xuan Fu Hua, warm, bitter and acrid, guides Qi downward to treat cough, wheezing and nausea, while Fu Shi, being cold, is better suited to hot viscous Phlegm or to Lung Heat injuring the collaterals and causing hemoptysis.
- Calcined Pumex Duan Fu Shi has a mild astringent action that restrains and checks.
