Composition

Manifestations
- An awareness of one's own heartbeat, often irregular
- Sharp, needle-like pain in the area anterior to the heart
- A stifling tightness felt in the chest
- At times a tugging pain extending down the inner arm (most often the left)
- Chest and/or arm pain is usually intense, coming in episodes
- When severe: cold extremities together with bluish discoloration of the lips and nails
- Tongue body
- A tongue that is either Dark red bearing purple spots, or entirely Purple in color
- Coating
- A meager coating
- Pulse
- Faint to the point of barely detectable and Fine together, or alternatively Knotted
