  • Yue Ji Hua and Flos Rosae Rugosae Mei Gui Hua both move Qi and Blood, treating irregular menstruation, premenstrual breast distention and abdominal pain from Qi and Blood Stagnation — Mei Gui Hua working chiefly on the Qi, Yue Ji Hua chiefly on the Blood. Mei Gui Hua reaches the Liver and Spleen channels, harmonizing the Liver, Spleen and Stomach, and is often chosen for Liver Qi Stagnation invading the Spleen and Stomach with chest oppression, belching, flank distention and poor appetite. Yue Ji Hua, entering the Liver channel alone, moves Blood more forcefully; it reduces swelling and resolves toxicity for sores arising when Qi and Blood Stagnation transforms into Fire, and it also treats scrofula.
