Manifestations
- This presentation is seen early on, whether in a first outbreak or a recurring episode, of guttate or plaque psoriasis.
- Coin-sized red maculae appearing on the scalp, trunk, limbs and elsewhere, multiplying quickly
- The lesions can present as papules, maculopapules or macular patches — bright red or dark red, of varying sizes — spread over the whole body or concentrated mainly on the trunk and limbs
- In some cases the lesions begin on the scalp, then gradually extend to other body regions
- Fresh lesions keep emerging,
- A large area is affected
- A silvery-white scale covers the lesions
- The scales accumulate in heaps
- Scratching readily dislodges the scales
- Removing the scale reveals the moist layer beneath, producing the characteristic Auspitz's sign.
- Most often seen in those younger than 40
- The itch can be severe
- Aggravated in the summer months
- Dislike of Heat
- Being easily irritated
- Feeling agitated and unable to settle

- Throat dryness
