Localización
- 01On the abdominal midline, 4 cun above the navel, halfway between the umbilicus and the sternocostal angle.
- 02On the anterior midline, four cun superior to the umbilicus.
Punción
- 01Insert perpendicularly, 0.8 to 1.5 cun.
- 02Caution: deep needling in thin patients may penetrate the peritoneal cavity.
- 03Straight insertion, 1 to 2 cun.
- 04Perpendicular insertion, 0.5 to 1.2 cun.
- 05Moxibustion may be used.
- 06Perpendicular insertion to a depth of 1 to 2 cun, or the needle may be angled obliquely around the point in any direction; this produces a heavy, distended sensation in the upper abdomen, or a feeling of the Stomach contracting.
- 07Caution: the Stomach, pancreas, and abdominal aorta lie deep to this point, so avoid needling too deeply, especially in thin patients; in those with an enlarged Liver or Spleen, oblique needling to either side of the point should be avoided.
