Localización

  1. 01At the free tip of the eleventh rib.
  2. 02On the mid-axillary line, at the eleventh rib's anterior end.
  3. 03On the abdomen's lateral aspect, inferior to the eleventh rib's free end.
  4. 04Anteroinferior to the free end of the eleventh rib.
  5. 05With the elbow flexed and the arm held to the side, the elbow tip roughly marks the point's location.
  6. 06To find the free end of the eleventh rib, rest the whole hand on the upper abdomen and gently palpate downward along the costal margin until the rib's end is felt just above the level of the umbilicus.
  7. 07The point generally falls on or close to the mid-axillary line, a vertical line dropped from the axilla's apex (HT-1 Jiquan).

Punción

  1. 01Insert perpendicularly or at a slant, 0.8 to 1 cun; expect a distended sensation along the side of the abdomen, which may spread toward the posterior abdominal wall.
  2. 02Caution: On the right side, the Liver's right lobe lies beneath this point, so excessive needling depth must be avoided; on the left side, the Spleen's lower pole lies deep to it, and overly deep insertion should likewise be avoided, especially where the Liver or Spleen is enlarged.
  3. 03Needle straight in, 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
  4. 04Insert transversely or obliquely, medially or laterally along the line of the rib, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  5. 05Moxibustion may be used.
