Lokalisation
- 01Located 2 cun proximal to the wrist's transverse crease, between the tendons of m. palmaris longus and m. flexor carpi radialis.
- 022 cun proximal to the wrist crease, on the line joining PC-3 Quze and PC-7 Daling, between the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis tendons.
- 03With the palm facing up, the point lies 2 cun proximal to the midpoint of the wrist's transverse crease, between the two tendons.
- 04On the palmar side of the forearm, 2 cun proximal to PC-7 Daling, between the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis tendons.
- 05Note: when the palmaris longus tendon is absent, locate the point on the ulnar side of the flexor carpi radialis instead.
Nadelung
- 01Insert straight in, 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
- 02Moxibustion may be used.
- 03Perpendicular insertion of 0.5 to 1.5 cun, penetrating as far as SJ-5 Waiguan on the forearm's other side; expect local distention, soreness and numbness that may reach the fingertips.
- 04Angle the needle proximally, 1 to 2 cun, for trunk disorders; a numb, distended sensation may spread to the elbow, axilla, or chest.
- 05For finger numbness, angle the needle slightly toward the radial side of the arm, 0.3 to 0.5 cun; a numb, electric feeling may travel toward the fingertips.
- 06Straight insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun, or through-and-through to SJ-5 Waiguan.
- 07Angle the needle proximally, 1 to 1.5 cun, for chest disorders.
- 08Angle the needle distally, 1 to 1.5 cun, for numbness of the fingers.
- 09Caution: The median nerve runs just beneath this point, so needling often produces a marked electric sensation. This counts as a normal form of De Qi (arrival of Qi), but once it appears, further manipulation should stop, as it risks nerve damage.
