Composition

  • Shan YaoDry-fried Rz. Dioscoreae30 g

    Tonifies the Spleen, nourishes Stomach Yin, stops diarrhea, tonifies Kidney Yin and astringes *Jing.*

  • Qian ShiDry-fried Sm. Euryales12–30 g

    Strengthens the Spleen, stops diarrhea, stabilizes the Kidneys, astringes *Jing, expels Dampness and stops discharge.*

    • Bai Guo
    for Damp-Heat vaginal discharge.
  • Che Qian ZiSm. Plantaginis3–12 g

    Promotes urination and clears Damp-Heat.

    for chronic vaginal discharge due to Spleen Deficiency with Damp-Heat.
  • Huang BaiCx. Phellodendri6–10 g

    Drains Damp-Heat especially from the Lower *Jiao.*

    for Burning, painful, hesitant urination.
  • Bai GuoSm. Gingko10 g

    Stabilizes the Lower *Jiao, eliminates Dampness, stops discharge and astringes the urine*.

    for vaginal discharge due to Spleen Deficiency with Dampness.
    for Damp-Heat induced, yellow vaginal discharge with a foul odor.
    for spermatorrhea.

Manifestations

  • Chronic, persistent vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, thick in consistency and yellowish-white in color
  • A complexion of pale yellow hue
  • A sense of dizziness
  • A feeling of heaviness affecting the head
  • Loss of appetite
  • Loose stools appearing from time to time
  • Menstruation arriving late, together with Blood that is pale in color
  • A weakness in the lower back and knees

Indications

  • Leukorrhea arising from Damp-Heat
  • Erosion of the cervix
  • Inflammation of the vagina
  • Vaginitis caused by Trichomonas
  • Infection of the lower urinary tract
  • Infection by filarial worms
  • Fibrocystic disease of the breast
  • Leukorrhea arising from Spleen Deficiency
  • Inflammation of the cervix
  • Long-standing pelvic inflammatory disease
  • An excessive flow of leukorrhea
  • Vaginitis with pus formation
  • Inflammation of the prostate
  • Pain in the vagina
  • Distention of the breasts occurring before menstruation

Modifications

Précautions

  • Not to be used in the absence of Damp-Heat.
  • Contraindicated when Damp-Heat is severe.
