Manifestations

  • Recurrent fullness and distention in the epigastrium and abdomen, aggravated after eating
  • Bringing up partially digested food roughly twelve hours after a meal
  • The discomfort in the abdomen eases once vomiting occurs
  • The vomited material may contain mucus that is either thick or thin and frothy
  • Possibly masses in the epigastrium and/or a splashing sound felt on palpation
  • An abundant flow of saliva
  • A stuffy sensation in the chest
