Combinaciones

Notas

  • Given alone as a powder, or combined with other Wind-dispelling herbs, it treats muscle cramps and spasms caused by Wind.
  • The spike, Jing Jie Sui, is used the same way but with greater strength.
  • It works best when applied early, at the onset of Wind Invasion.
  • Its uses closely match those of Western Catnip, apart from promoting rash eruption.
  • According to some sources, it also reduces swelling and detoxifies the Blood.
  • It vents Wind from the Blood.
  • Some sources credit it with stopping epistaxis, hematuria, menorrhagia, and other forms of bleeding.
  • Jing Jie and Fol. Perillae Zi Su Ye both release the exterior and induce sweating. Jing Jie is the stronger Wind-dispeller and suits both Wind-Cold and Wind-Heat, whereas Zi Su Ye is better reserved for Wind-Cold accompanied by Middle Jiao issues such as Qi Stagnation or pregnancy.
  • Dry-fried Schizonepeta, Chao Jing Jie, is favored when the patient is already sweating.
  • Charred Schizonepeta, Jing Jie Tan, regulates the Blood and stops bleeding.
