- Pain that remains in a fixed location, sharp and stabbing, and/or severe
- Pain worsens under pressure
- Complexion appears darkened
- Masses that can be felt and do not shift position
- Hemorrhage containing clotted blood
- Lips take on a purplish hue
- Nails appear purplish in color
- Skin that is parched
- Patches of skin, whether small or extensive, showing blue, dark or purplish discoloration
- Visible varicose veins and spider veins
- Coldness in the hands and feet
- A propensity toward bleeding dark blood or blood clots
