Lokalisation
- 01Found on the posterior midline of the leg, between UB-40 Weizhong and UB-60 Kunlun, in the pointed hollow that appears below the gastrocnemius muscle belly when the leg is extended or the heel raised.
- 02With the patient prone, ask them to extend the foot as though rising onto tiptoe; this brings out a triangular hollow in the middle of the calf, midway between the knee's transverse crease and the heel, and the point sits at the apex of that triangle.
- 03Situated just below the gastrocnemius muscle bellies, on the line joining UB-40 Weizhong to the calcaneal tendon, roughly 8 cun distal to UB-40 Weizhong.
- 04On the lower leg, in the hollow that forms below the gastrocnemius belly when the muscle is flexed, about 8 cun distal to UB-40 Weizhong — that is, halfway between UB-40 Weizhong and UB-60 Kunlun. Note: tracing a finger upward from the Achilles tendon along the midline leads into the depression between the two gastrocnemius origins; this hollow can be easier to feel if the patient presses the ball of the foot against resistance from your hand.
- 05With the foot fully plantar-flexed (as if on tiptoe), the point lies at the apex of the triangular hollow that forms in the middle of the calf, midway between UB-40 Weizhong and the level of the lateral malleolus (8 cun below UB-40 Weizhong).
Nadelung
- 01Puncture straight in, 0.8 to 1.2 cun.
- 02Moxibustion may be used.
- 03Insert straight in, 1.2 to 2.5 cun. Sensation: local distention and soreness that may spread toward the back of the knee; when needled deeply for sciatica, an electric, numb feeling may radiate to the sole of the foot.
- 04Insert perpendicularly or obliquely, angled either proximally or distally, 1 to 1.5 cun.

Anmerkungen
- This point is a key choice for treating muscle cramps.
- It serves as a distal point in treating low back pain and sciatica.
- It is an empirically-used point for hemorrhoids.
- This is the primary point for physical trauma of any kind.
