Localisation
- 01Anterosuperior to SJ-21 Ermen, level with the base of the auricle, on the back edge of the temple's hairline where the superficial temporal artery passes.
- 02About 0.5 cun anterior to the upper edge of the ear's root, in a shallow hollow at the posterior hairline border of the temple. Note: it sits just behind where the superficial temporal artery can be felt.
- 03Superior to SJ-21 Ermen, at the natural hairline.
Puncture
- 01Insert obliquely to 0.1–0.3 cun, taking care to avoid the artery.
- 02Moxibustion may be used.
- 03Horizontal insertion to 0.3–0.5 cun.
