Notes

Soak the first four ingredients in sesame oil for a period of three days. Next, heat the oil gently over a low flame until the herbs darken to brown, then strain it and discard the solid residue. Mix in the beeswax along with Xue Jie and Qing Fen, warming the oil again if needed to melt the wax completely. Blend well and transfer into an amber-colored glass container, letting it set into a solid form. Use a sterile cotton swab to apply a generous layer to the affected site once each day.
