Toxic Heat accompanied by Deficiency of Kidney Yang

Symptome

  • Latent Stage: Onset comes roughly 1 year following infection. Relapse is possible. Beyond the second year fresh lesions seldom appear. The stage can persist for several years, or for the rest of the patient's life. Where no treatment is given, roughly one-third of infected people go on to Late-Stage or Tertiary syphilis, which may only surface after many years.
  • Tertiary or Late-Stage: Lesions emerge somewhere between 3 and 10 years following infection. The characteristic lesion is a rubbery, long-standing, localized inflammation marked by gray-white necrosis at its center and ringed by granulized tissue. Such lesions enlarge slowly, resolve only gradually and leave scarring behind. Any organ or tissue may be involved. They arise frequently in Submucosal tissue such as the: Palate Nasal septum Pharynx Larynx From there they bring about degeneration of tissue, with perforation of the palate, or of the septum. They also arise in regions well supplied with blood such as the: Leg below the knee Upper trunk Face Scalp Eyes Stomach Lungs Liver Testicles
