Anmerkungen

  • It also treats carbuncles.
  • Dai Mao and Cornu Bubali (Shui Niu Jiao) both enter the Heart and Liver channels, clearing Heat, resolving toxicity, calming convulsions and easing spasms. Dai Mao, being sweet, salty and cold, has a stronger effect on extinguishing Wind and calming Liver-related convulsions. Shui Niu Jiao, being bitter, works mainly at the Blood level to cool Heat, clearing Heart Heat, cooling the Blood and dispersing Stagnation.
  • Dai Mao and Cornu Saigae Tataricae (Ling Yang Jiao) both calm the Liver, extinguish Wind, clear Heat, resolve toxicity, and treat extreme-Heat Wind manifesting as spasms, convulsions and seizures; both also address maculae and rashes from febrile disease. Ling Yang Jiao is oriented toward the Liver channel, with a pronounced ability to extinguish Wind and also to clear the eyes. Dai Mao is oriented toward the Heart channel — it opens the orifices, calms the Spirit, settles jitteriness and anxiety, and improves impaired consciousness — and it also nourishes the Liver and Kidneys to anchor the Yang.
