Kontraindikationen

  • Contraindicated in cases of intermittent fever and chills.
  • Contraindicated in Cold-type disorders.
  • The processed form is preferred, since the raw herb is considered toxic.

Anmerkungen

  • It is used chiefly for digestive complaints from contaminated food or drink (Summerheat), summer colds, and alcohol intoxication.
  • It may be beneficial in diabetes.
  • Used alone, it treats poultry poisoning and calomel poisoning, and in powdered form, arsenic poisoning.
  • Crushed leaves applied externally are said to cure snakebite.
  • For spasms following vomiting or diarrhea, a handful of crushed leaves mixed with a little vinegar is squeezed for its juice and applied to the affected area.
  • It is said to treat Spleen and Stomach Deficiency with nausea, regurgitation, chronic diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal masses, and infantile malnutrition.
  • Research indicates it inhibits cancer cell growth.
  • Juice pressed from 750g of the leaves is said to treat Stomach cancer and other tumors, taken frequently with no dosage limit.
  • Dry-frying the herb suits treatment of Spleen Deficiency.
  • Lablab Testa Bian Dou Yi, the dried seed coat, regulates Spleen and Stomach function for summer diarrhea, dosed at 6-12g.
  • Flos Lablab Bian Dou Hua, the dried flower, relieves Summerheat, removes Dampness, and controls bleeding, used for dysentery, diarrhea, and leukorrhea, dosed at 6-12g.
