Localisation

  1. 01At the natural hairline, directly above the eyebrow's medial end, positioned between DU-24 Shenting and UB-4 Quchai.
  2. 020.5 cun inside the anterior hairline, directly above UB-2 Zanzhu, at the same level as DU-24 Shenting.
  3. 03Note: the anterior-to-posterior hairline span measures 12 cun. When the anterior hairline is not clearly visible, use 15 cun as the distance from the glabella (M-HN-3 Yintang) to the posterior hairline, with the anterior hairline taken as one-fifth of that span. Where the posterior hairline is unclear, place it 1 cun below DU-16 Fengfu, which sits just under the external occipital protuberance.

Puncture

  1. 01Angle the needle in, 0.3 to 0.5 cun deep.
  2. 02Insert transversely, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  3. 03Needle subcutaneously to a depth of 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
