Localisation

  1. 01On the sternal midline, level with where the first intercostal space meets the sternum.
  2. 021 cun below REN-21 Xuanji, in line with the first intercostal space.
  3. 03On the midline of the front of the body, at the midpoint of the sternal angle, level with the first intercostal space.

Puncture

  1. 01Insert transversely along the channel, angled up or down, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  2. 02Insert at a slant, 0.5 to 1 cun.
  3. 03Puncture just beneath the skin, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
  4. 04Moxibustion may be used.
