Kouheliao (Nose-Heliao)

Directly beneath the lateral edge of the nostril, level with DU-26 Renzhong. Note: DU-26 Renzhong sits above the upper lip at the midline, at the boundary between the upper and lower two-thirds of the philtrum.

1. 01Insert transversely, directed toward the midline, 0.3 to 0.5 cun. Sensation: local pain.
2. 02Oblique insertion, 0.3 to 0.5 cun. Note: some classical texts list this point as forbidden for moxibustion.
3. 03Needle obliquely, 0.2 to 0.3 cun.
