Localisation
- 01Located in the first intercostal space, 2 cun lateral to the midline.
- 022 cun lateral to REN-20 Huagai, within the first intercostal space.
Puncture
- 01Insert transverse-obliquely, directing the needle laterally along the intercostal space, 0.5 to 1 cun.
- 02Caution: needling too deeply, whether straight in or angled, risks puncturing the lung.
- 03Insert at a slant, 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
- 04Insert obliquely, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
- 05Moxibustion may also be used.
