Localisation
On the back's midline, in the hollow beneath the spinous process of the tenth thoracic vertebra.
Puncture
- 01Insert perpendicular-to-oblique, angled superiorly, 0.5–1 cun.
- 02Caution: depending on body build, the spinal column lies 1.25–1.75 cun below the skin surface.
- 03Oblique insertion, 0.5–1 cun.
- 04Needle perpendicularly, 0.5–1 cun.
- 05Moxibustion may be used.
