Actions & indications
- Eliminates phlegm and calms dyspnea
- Scrofula, hemorrhoids, recurrent dysentery and asthma with Cold Phlegm

Contre-indications
- Contraindicated during pregnancy.
- Contraindicated in the physically weak.
- Highly toxic; internal use demands great caution.
- Use caution with long-term use.
- Must not be taken with wine.
- Overuse externally may cause intoxication.
Incompatibilités
Its action is inhibited by mercury, Shui Yin.
Notes
- This substance's use is prohibited.
- For oral use it must first be decocted with Semen Phaseoli Radiati Lu Dou or bean curd, and dosage must be kept within a safe limit.
- It is a toxin that breaks down and destroys ulcerous cells and kills malignant cells.
- It corrodes carbuncles and deep-rooted carbuncles, and is poisonous to insects, animals and humans.
- For anal fistula, it is fried and ground to a powder, wrapped in thin paper and inserted into the anus, treating only one fistula at a time.
