Manifestations

  • Pain along the nerve pathway, at times quite intense, which can persist even after the papules have cleared
  • Follows the course of the nerves, most often in the neck, intercostal area, abdomen, lower back, or limbs
  • A dull, darkened facial complexion
  • Marked wasting of the body
  • Bilateral distention of the flanks and ribs, possibly with sharp pain
  • The Liver and Spleen are enlarged
  • A stifling feeling in the chest
  • Frequent sighing
  • Low spirits
  • Despondency
  • Quickness to irritation
