Notes

Grind Qing Fen and Qian Dan to a fine powder (Zhu Sha comes pre-powdered). Heat the sesame oil in a nonmetallic pan just to boiling, then add the beeswax and keep boiling until the yellow froth is gone. Pour the liquid at once into a pre-warmed amber jar with a lid, then stir the powders in slowly until fully blended and let it set. Spread the ointment over the affected areas, then use a hand-held hair dryer on medium or low heat to warm the area for 10-20 minutes, avoiding overheating. Remove the ointment with a sterile cotton ball. Apply once a day for four weeks.
