Manifestations

  • Possibly Yang-type jaundice, with the sclera and skin turning a bright yellow
  • Bilateral rib pain accompanied by a sense of fullness
  • Possible pain located in the right hypochondrium
  • Bitterness perceived in the mouth
  • A queasy, nauseated feeling
  • Bringing up fluids that taste sour and bitter
  • Poor appetite
  • Possibly chills alternating with fever

  • In women: a foul-smelling yellow vaginal discharge, with itching of the vulva.

  • When Dampness predominates over Heat: a light yellow tinge appears, with heaviness through the head and body, fullness and distention in the epigastrium and abdomen, poor appetite, thirst without any desire to drink, and loose stools. T: Pink with red tip and edges. C: Whitish-gray. P: Soft or slippery.
