Localización
- 01Just above the medial end of the popliteal crease, in the hollow in front of the semitendinosus and semimembranosus tendons, roughly 1 cun anterior to KI-10 Yingu.
- 02Note: flexing the knee helps locate the popliteal crease and its tendons, though needling can then be done with the leg semi-flexed on a pillow; of the two tendons, the semitendinosus — which lies posterior to the semimembranosus — is the more prominent.
- 03With the knee bent, the point lies at the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease, behind the tibia's medial epicondyle, in the depression at the front edge of where the semitendinosus and semimembranosus insert.
- 04When the knee is flexed, the point is found in the hollow at the medial end of the transverse crease on the back of the knee.
- 05With the knee bent, it sits in the hollow at the medial end of the transverse popliteal crease, between the upper border of the femur's medial epicondyle and the semimembranosus tendon.
Punción
- 01Insert perpendicularly or angled slightly posterior, 1 to 1.5 cun.
- 02Needle perpendicularly, 0.5 to 0.8 cun.
- 03Moxibustion may be used.
- 04Straight needling, 1 to 1.5 cun; produces local distention and soreness.
