It is used mainly for Heat toxin affecting the skin, virulent sores, boils, hemorrhoids, Damp Bi, and to bring down milk.
It works particularly well for breast abscesses arising from Qi and Blood Stagnation.
Despite its Cold nature, it retains unblocking and facilitating properties.
Used by itself, it addresses dermatological disorders.
Research has shown this herb inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
Taken over an extended period, it moves Qi, sharpens vision, and extends lifespan.
According to one source, it calms the Small Intestine and treats seminal emission, hematuria, hematochezia, high fever in infants, breast abscess, and scrofula.
It arrests bleeding, expels pus, and tonifies the Blood to nourish the muscles.
It is also reported to kill roundworms.
