Notas

  • This herb warms the Middle Jiao, directs Qi downward, warms Kidney and Bladder Qi, and addresses turbid urination.
  • It is particularly effective at scattering Cold and relieving pain.
  • It is reported to treat Cold bulging disorders, resolve Food Stagnation, and dispel Wind from the skin.
  • Bi Cheng Qie and Fr. Piperis Longi Bi Ba both warm the Middle and dispel Cold to address Middle Jiao Deficiency Cold. Bi Cheng Qie, being warm and quite acrid, disperses more forcefully — warming the Spleen and Stomach and clearing Qi Stagnation — and is best suited for scattering Cold, easing pain, and sending Qi downward, particularly for Qi Stagnation with chest, epigastric, or abdominal pain, or nausea, vomiting, and hiccup from Stomach Cold. Bi Ba, very Hot, powerfully disperses Cold that has sunk deep into the Middle Jiao, and suits Deficiency Cold of the Stomach and Intestines with abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
  • Rx. et Rz. Litseae Dou Chi Jiang is acrid, aromatic, and warm, entering the Liver and Lung channels to dispel Wind, remove Dampness, regulate Qi flow, and relieve pain. It is used for Wind-Damp Bi and stomachache, though most often for lower back pain, and also for dysmenorrhea with a distended, painful lower abdomen that eases with heat or pressure, as well as for chills, headache, and muscle aches from an External disorder. Its dosage is 1.5-6g.
