Manifestaciones

  • The eruptions typically appear on the outer surfaces of the limbs
  • They tend to be worst over the outer aspects of the elbows and knees
  • They can also cluster on the trunk and scalp; the lesions themselves are pink or red papules and plaques with clearly defined borders
  • The lesions display multiple layers of dry, silvery scaling
  • Light scraping exposes a pink, semi-transparent membrane
  • Pruritus is pronounced
  • Repeated scraping can bring out tiny blood spots
  • Lesion size spans from dot-like to coin-like, with shapes that may be circular or geographic
  • Scalp lesions appear dark red, topped with grayish-white scales, and hair may emerge through them in clusters
  • No hair loss occurs
  • Nail lesions on fingers and toes show up as small pitted indentations
