Symptome
- Discharge of pus from the nose
- Nosebleeds, generally only a small quantity of Blood, occurring in the early phase
- Blocked nasal passages during the early phase
- A growth located within the nasal cavity
- A ringing noise perceived in the ears
- An inability to hear
- Lumps forming in the neck
- The presentation known as Vernet's syndrome
- The presence of platoplegia
- An uneven, lopsided palate
- Loss of the mouth's ability to open normally
- Migraine headaches
- Difficulty in swallowing
- A feeling of choking triggered by drinking fluids
- A raspy quality to the voice
- Protrusion of the eyeballs
- Typically produces no noticeable symptoms early on
- The growth may present as a cauliflower-shaped nodule or an ulcer in the nasopharynx, or as an area of membrane erosion with an abnormal color
- An inability to see
- Once the growth spreads into the submucosal layer, the membrane surface remains smooth while the nasopharynx takes on a sunken appearance
- Involvement of the cranial nerves shows up as eyeball paralysis, diminished facial sensation or pain response, trouble opening the mouth, the tongue tilting on protrusion, loss of speech ability, soft palate paralysis, and an absent gag reflex
