    Dispels Wind-Cold-Dampness, releases the Exterior and alleviates pain.

    for joint pain due to Wind-Cold-Dampness.
    for Shao Yin toothaches and headaches.
  • Chuan XiongRz. Chuanxiong3–10 g

    Expels Wind, alleviates pain, invigorates the Blood and promotes the movement of *Qi*.

  • Cang ZhuRz. Atractylodis3–10 g

Symptome

  • Long-standing cold pain in the low back and body, along with a sense of heaviness
  • Warmth is preferred
  • Damp weather aggravates the pain
  • Pain spreading downward and into the lower limbs
  • Restricted mobility of the lower spine
  • Marked hardness and stiffness through the lumbar region, with pronounced tenderness
  • On palpation the supraspinous ligament feels cord-like and swollen
  • A cord-like sensation that moves, felt at the origin of the sacro-spinal muscle
  • The pain and the other symptoms deteriorate little by little
  • An illness that has run a protracted course
  • The head feels heavy
