Danju

On the lower abdomen, 2 cun below the umbilicus and 2 cun lateral to the midline, level with REV-5 Shimen. Note that this 2 cun line runs midway between the midline and the palpable lateral edge of the rectus abdominis muscle.

1. 01Insert perpendicularly, 1 to 1.5 cun deep.
2. 02Caution: deep needling in thin patients may penetrate the peritoneal cavity.
3. 03Needle perpendicularly to a depth of 0.7 to 1.2 cun.
4. 04Moxibustion may also be used.
5. 05Insert straight, 1 to 2 cun.
