Lokalisation
- 01On the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, halfway between ST-9 Renying and ST-11 Qishe.
- 02At the midpoint of the line connecting ST-9 Renying to ST-11 Qishe, along the anterior edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
Nadelung
- 01Needle perpendicularly, 0.3 to 0.5 cun deep.
- 02Moxibustion may be used.
- 03Insert at a slight angle from perpendicular, directed medially to avoid the carotid artery, 0.5 to 1 cun deep.
- 04Caution: the artery must not be pierced — palpate it first and hold it laterally throughout needling, using the index finger and thumb of one hand above and below the point.
