Lokalisation

  1. 01Behind and below the mandibular angle, at the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
  2. 02In the hollow between the mandibular angle and the sternocleidomastoid's anterior edge. Note: this anterior border is easier to palpate if the patient turns the head away from the side being needled while resistance is applied to the chin. When the C-2 transverse process can be felt, the point should be located and needled just anterior to it.

  1. 01Aim the needle toward the tongue root, anterior to the carotid vessels, 0.5 to 1 cun deep.
  2. 02Puncture perpendicularly, 0.5 to 0.7 cun deep.
  3. 03Moxibustion may be used.
  4. 04Insert directly toward the tongue root, 1 to 1.5 cun deep; expect distention and soreness spreading to the tongue root or throat area.
